What is leadership? Is a leader born or made? What are the qualities of a leader? Is a leadership position earned or is it a right of passage? So many questions, so little time! “Leadership Optimization™” will do more for you than answer a myriad of leadership questions. Leadership issues will be addressed, to be sure, but it is more important that you “become” a better leader of yourself and of others, than that you simply learn about leadership. Your growth is of paramount important to your success. Leadership Optimization, simply put, is the process of making you a better leader. It’s about optimizing or improving your ability to lead.
It is impossible to achieve your maximum potential without some degree of leadership ability. That doesn’t mean that you must have, or even strive for, a ‘leadership position,’ but it does means that you must have the ability to influence people. Not everyone will be, or is gifted to be, a ‘positional leader,’ but everyone was born to have an influence in the world.
Leadership definitions are a dime a dozen, and many of them contribute to an understanding of leadership. But at its very core leadership is simply the ability to influence people. And the reality is that we all influence people on some level. As a parent you influence (lead) your children. As an employee you influence (lead) the people you work with. And, believe it or not, you even have the ability to influence your boss. If you really think about it you will discover that you influence more people in the course of the day than you ever imagined.
The ability to influence people is fundamental to “Human Optimization.”™ It is simply impossible to maximize a person’s potential without increasing their ability to influence others. This is true because of the importance of relationships. Relationships are a central part of life, and if we can’t be a positive influence in our relationships then we are limiting our performance ability.
“Leadership Optimization™” will even contribute to a person’s experience of peace. When you exert a positive influence in your relationships you will increase the level of relational peace experienced by all parties involved. When relational peace increases it is inevitable that inner peace will also increase. In this way inner and relational peace have a dynamic relationship with one impacting the other.
By developing your leadership skills, whether or not you want to be (or should be) a “leader,” you will increase your potential for success.
At the very least you must be able to lead yourself. Self Leadership is crucial for achieving personal success. If you can’t lead yourself, then you will flounder through life without purpose or direction.
