What are you reaching for? This is an important question, with far reaching implications. Some people “hope” or “dream” that they will one day succeed, but they put very little effort into the attempt. Other people have similar “dreams” but are developing themselves for success, and actively pursing success in intelligent ways. The different, quite honestly, is the difference between success and failure.
“Success is achieved by people who refuse to allow their imagination to be limited by the confines of any imposes limitations or restrictions.” (Gerald Paul—aka “G”)
When you ask yourself the question “What are you reaching for?” don’t allow your thinking to be restricted by limitations that are imposed by others, or even by yourself. Life has taught us to think “realistically,” and people regularly enforce that idea. But when it come to your success, what is “realistic” and who gets to make that judgement for you?
Instead of limiting the boundaries of your “success thinking”, expand them. Be “realistic” about what it will take to achieve your dream—it won’t be easy—but don’t be “realistic” in your perception of what you can achieve. Only you can limit you.
The Wonder of the Heavens
The wonders of the universe are incomprehensible, and its scope immeasurable. With all our scientific advancements we still barely scratch the surface of what is out there.
The Hubble telescope in orbit around the earth allows us to see more of the universe than we have ever seen. And yet, the more we see, the more we realize how little we truly see and know. The words of Sophocles, written in 420 B.C., still ring true today: “Astronomy? Impossible to understand and madness to investigate.” (Sophocles, 420 BC)
This video provides only a glimpse of the beauty, majesty, and scope of the heavens. Allow it to open your mind to possibilities…
When you look upon the heavens you cannot help but to be overcome by a sense of awe. You only have to lay on the grass and gaze at the myriad of stars in the night sky to be astounded by the bigness of it all. In fact, as a writer and speaker, I struggle to find words big enough to express the expansiveness of the universe that is filled with untold secrets. Words simply cannot capture the awe inspiring majesty of the heavens. You must look for yourself.
Success Principle: “A Man’s [Woman’s] Reach Should Exceed His [Her] Grasp”
The words of Robert Browning have found a place on the header because they speak a significant truth to everyone who strives for success, both men and women—despite what is considered to be “sexist” language.
Robert Browning uses the word “heaven” to describe the vastness of the universe with its billions of stars in its billions of galaxies. This reality alone is difficult to wrap one’s head around. And yet the multitude of stars in the universe only begin to tell of it’s wondrous beauty and untold secrets.
The grand scope of the universe teaches us many things, not the least of which is to think and dream big. We can only imagine what is out there, and we cannot begin to fathom the beauty that lies beyond the reaches of our sight. Despite the power of the Hubble telescope, we still see little and understand less about what secrets lie in the far reaches of the universe—or even our own galaxy for that matter.
The words of Robert Browning express a fundamental success principle. Success is achieved by people who refuse to allow their imagination to be limited by the confines of any imposes limitations or restrictions.
Successful people see the vastness of the heaven’s, and they allow their dreams to grow accordingly. Successful people are able to envision gigantic possibilities, and they have the capacity to reach for what seems to lie outside their grasp. They are not limited by what they think they can accomplish, and never by what others think they can accomplish.
G Strategies™ | Growth Strategies for Success™
Look to the heavens. Allow their limitless scope to inspire your imagination, and to motivate you to achieve greater things than you ever imagined possible.
You matter. You are your most valuable asset. Only you can take yourself to the next level, and in so doing design your preferred future—your destiny! Never give up that control, and never allow anyone tell you what you can or can’t accomplish.
Watch the video one more time. And this time watch it with your destiny in mind. Don’t limit yourself, rather allow the scope of the “heavens” to expand your mind so that you can think big thoughts and develop big dreams.
