Team building and team success is critical to business success and organizational success. The strength of a business or organization is directly proportional to the effectiveness of it’s teams. When you increase the effectiveness of a team you increase the effectiveness of the organization. It is important, therefore, to make teams as strong and effective as they can be.
“Team Optimization™” is the aspect of Human Optimization™ that focuses on team building and team success. “Team Optimization™” presents strategies that will increase team potential, productivity, and performance. This will ensure the teams continued success, as well as the success of the business or organization they serve. Optimize the team and you optimize the people, the business, and the organization.
A healthy team will always accomplish more than an individual. Two minds are always better than one. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. And who can forget the T.E.A.M acrostic which states: “Together Everyone Achieves/Accomplishes More.” All of these realities are true. Unless, of course, we are describing a dysfunctional team. In that case, all bets are off.
Teams have been in existence from the beginning of time. Wherever you find people you will find teams. Before humankind discovered fire people discovered that a group is stronger than an individual. There is safety in number, intelligence in collaboration, wisdom in cooperation, companionship in partnerships, and strength in teamwork. As long as there are people there will be teams because they make life more fun, more productive, more interesting, and more rewarding.
Team Optimization is an important part of “Human Optimization” because when you make the team better, you also make the individuals on the team better. When you optimize, or build and strengthen, the team you are in turn optimizing the individuals on the team. Maximize the team and you maximize the individual. The people on the team will be empowered to accomplish more for the benefit of the whole team, and ultimately for the business or organization.
A healthy team will contribute to relational peace, inner peace, individual performance, as well as personal and organizational success. It’s important, and rather obvious, to also note that an unhealthy team will demoralize people and hinder their efficiency. That is why it is so important for organizations to maintain and invest in healthy teams. Unhealthy teams (weak or dysfunctional teams) are like cancer within an organization. They limit an organizations effectiveness, sabotage growth, and hinder productivity.
When I speak to organizations about teams I stress the importance of investing in each individual, because the strength of the team lies in the individual, and the strength of the individual is in the team.
Invest in your people, strengthen your teams, and you will maximize the potential, productivity, and performance of your people, your teams, and your organization. This is a true win, win, win, win, strategy. Your people win, your teams win, your organization wins, and you win. What more can we ask for?
“Team Optimization”™ provides strategies to equip teams for success. It is the process of building better teams. There is no compromising here. Successful organizations are committed to the ongoing training and growth of their team players.
