Success will remain an unrealized reality for anyone who is not able to control or guide their thought life—even for those with great natural abilities and charisma. Personal development will come to a screeching halt without a positive mental attitude. If you can’t reign in your thinking process then success will continually elude you. This is an inescapable reality. A positive thought life will transform your life. Change your thinking, change your life.
“Thought Optimization™” is the aspect of “Human Optimization™” that has to do with the health and welfare of our mind. Just like we must take care of our physical condition, we must also take care of our mental condition. Mental health should not be seen as a negative term, or viewed as the realm of the health care professional, it is something that everyone must give appropriate attention to if they wish to enjoy success in life and work.
Positive thought development, the ongoing development of your thinking, is a key factor in the achievement of success. It plays a significant role in increasing your potential, productivity, and performance. It is impossible to optimize your life without consistent effort to develop your mind. Allow your mind to rest idol, or to focus on negative ideas or thoughts, and you forfeit any possibility for success. You will fail before you begin!
Your mind is absolutely crucial to every part of your life. It’s the source of all your decisions. It guides your actions, your behavior, your emotions, the path you take in life, the way you interact with people—absolutely everything about you is influenced by your thought processes. It’s what separates us from other life forms on our planet.
- The plain and simple “truth” is this: you can be successful in life and work, as long as you are willing to discipline your mind, and develop positive thinking skills.
The plain and simple “reality” is this: Few people are willing to discipline their mind, and to thought processes. As a result, they fall short of their potential and fail to achieve the success they desire.
It’s unfortunate, but this is one of the main reasons so many people don’t succeed in life.
I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “Out of sight, out of mind.” It communicates the reality that we often ignore, or forget about, what we don’t see. I always laugh when I see guys in the gym with huge upper bodies and tiny little chicken legs. Out of sight out of mind.
This saying is especially true when it comes to a persons mind. After all, no one has ever had the opportunity to see their brain. We can’t watch it, to see if it is lazy or lethargic. That makes it especially easy to ignore, and far too many people do exactly that.
Your mind is like a muscle, and it will atrophy if it is not challenged regularly. Allow your mind to lay dormant and you will diminish its capacity, and consequently your ability to succeed.
I get frustrated when people say, “I can’t read,” when what they really mean is, “I’m to lazy to bother with reading.” The fact is that thought training is far more difficult than physical training. It is not for the faint of heart but for those who are serious about self improvement or personal development (i.e. “Self Optimization”). Only those with a passion to reach their full potential will have the courage to tread here.
There is no question that maintaining mental health and and disciplined thought life takes effort. But then anything worth having takes effort. Let me assure you, the potential for success is definitely worth the effort. Unless, of course, you enjoy being less than you can be, working a dead end job, and staying home because you can’t afford to do what you want. No! Didn’t think so.
Your mind is unquestionably your most valuable asset. Train it, discipline it, fill it with knowledge, think positive thoughts, and you will elevate your potential exponentially. Ignore it, be mentally lazy, fill it with mindless drivel, allow your thinking to stray, and you will stunt your ability to grow and eliminate any possibility of achieving your dreams. I don’t wish than on anyone. Please don’t wish it on yourself.
Thought Optimization provides strategies to help you develop healthy thinking patterns and a healthy mental attitude.
